Marty Parker, Chairman and CEO

Marty is the country’s leading expert on Human Capital, and is a frequent commentator on issues surrounding corporate leadership and organizational culture. He has written for the National Post, Canadian Business and Profit, and has appeared on Canada AM, BNN and CP24. He also publishes a regular newsletter called The Waterline: Highs and Lows in Leadership and Corporate Culture.

Marty's book, Culture Connection: How Developing a Winning Culture Will Give Your Organization a Competitive Advantage, was recently published by McGraw-Hill Ryerson. Culture Connection is filled with advice from top business leaders, including: Clive Beddoe, founding shareholder and Chairman, WestJet; Isadore Sharp, founder and Chairman, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts; Darren Entwistle, President and CEO, TELUS Corporation; and Michael McCain, President and CEO, Maple Leaf Foods.

Marty founded Waterstone Human Capital in 2003, and the Canada's 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures program in 2005.

Formerly, Marty was managing director and partner with The Caldwell Partners International, and was executive vice-president of The CCL Group, a leading marketing communications group of companies. His  earlier career was with Johnson & Johnson and Labatt Breweries, where he held progressively senior sales and marketing positions.

Marty is a member of the Entrepreneur’s Organization, and a former director of VON Canada and Junior Achievement. He holds a Bachelor of Arts as well as a Master of Science from the University of Guelph.

David Kinley, President and Managing Director

David, one of the most sought after and successful search professionals in North America, has almost 20 years of executive search experience in Canada, the U.S., Asia and Europe.

David leads Waterstone's technology and private equity practice, as well as the firm's relationship as the Canadian partner of Stanton Chase International, a leading global executive search firm. He is also Vice Chair of the Canada's 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures Board of Governors.

Prior to joining Waterstone, David was co-founder and CEO of Kinley & Connelly. He is a former Board Member and Managing Partner at Christian & Timbers, formerly one of the world's largest technology-based executive search firms. He was also a Search Partner and Practice Leader at The Caldwell Partners.

David, a member of the Leadership Advisory Board at the University of Toronto, is a recent graduate of the Corporate Governance program at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.

 

Heather Connelly, Managing Director, Broader Public Sector

Heather is one of Canada's most respected and skilled search professionals. She has over 30 years of executive search leadership in the broader public sector with a depth of healthcare, education and not for profit search experience.

She is the former President of Kinley & Connelly, an executive search firm she co-founded with David Kinley. Heather was also a Partner of The Caldwell Partners and KPMG, and a Partner and Member of Heidrick & Struggles, where she led the public sector and leadership service practices in Canada.

Heather is a Board Director with Corbin Cares Foundation and a former Chair of the Learning Partnership, a partnership between public education and business. She is also a former member of the Board of Directors of the Change Foundation and VON Canada Foundation. She currently serves on the Governance Committee for Wellspring and The Learning Partnership. She is a frequent speaker on board governance and leadership transition. A graduate of Dalhousie University, she has lived and worked in Nova Scotia, Manitoba, Alberta and Ontario.

Karl Parker brings life sciences experience to the Waterstone Human Capital Ltd. team. A graduate of the University of Waterloo, Karl enjoyed a 23-year career with Pfizer Canada Inc., where he held progressively more senior roles in sales, marketing, national accounts, communications and government affairs.

His search experience includes successful executive level placements in retail, manufacturing, print and online media, corporate finance and life sciences.

Karl resides in Deep Cove, British Columbia and he and his wife Allison are avid Pacific Northwest boaters.

Lois Dyer Mann, Managing Director, Halifax

Lois leads Waterstone's practice in Atlantic Canada at our Halifax office. She has over 10 years of excellence in executive search in the Atlantic region and across the country, and a rich history of leadership in Atlantic Canada.

Lois was previously a Partner at the Halifax office of The Caldwell Partners where she concentrated on executive level positions and board recruitment primarily in Atlantic Canada. Prior to Caldwell, she was a Senior Vice President for Halifax-based CCL Group, a leading strategic marketing and communications firm. She is also the former Vice President of Finance and Administration at Mount Saint Vincent University, and the former President of the Halifax Chamber of Commerce.

Lois is active in her community and has contributed her time and talent to numerous boards and committees, including her current role as a dairector of Nova Scotia Business Inc.; as a member of the advisory board for Project TWENTY12, Mount Saint Vincent University's fundraising campaign; and, as a founding director of the 2011 Canada Winter Games Host Society.

She is a graduate of Dalhousie University Law School and is also a recipient of Canada's 125th Anniversary Medal. She lives in Chester, N.S.

Anjalee began her career in executive search in 2000 where she worked across all industry sectors and function levels.

As the sole researcher at Heidrick & Struggles for all of Canada, Anjalee was responsible for delivering information within the Canadian marketplace as well as diligently providing information to all industry practices across the globe. As the research function evolved within the firm, Anjalee became the only member of the Knowledge Management team that represented Canada. She actively assisted in the training and development program for the researchers at the newly created Knowledge Management Center in India.

As a Research Manager for Canada’s largest private search firm, The Bedford Consulting Group, Anjalee was responsible for successfully putting a research department in place while building, mentoring and managing the research team.

As the Director of Research/Associate at Rouse Resources, Anjalee’s role evolved to include project management and execution where she identified, qualified and presented talent. She also spearheaded the training and development initiatives for her direct report.

As the Director of Research and Research Consultant at Waterstone Human Capital, Anjalee continues to build relationships and enhance her ability to acquire and develop pertinent information intelligence. She takes pride in her ability to successfully unveil outstanding talent and effectively leads and mentors her team.

Jennifer's career in marketing and communications began in the late 1990s, at Citytv, where she was the producer and senior manager of the annual ideaCity Conference, a position she held for seven years. As an entrepreneur, she co-ran a successful event marketing, public relations and communications firm, handling a number of national, multi-city, high-profile corporate and cultural events for a variety of clients, including Maclean's, Canadian Business, Chatelaine, The Rotman School of Management, The City of Toronto and The Canadian International Council.

Jennifer is also a writer, publicist and media trainer, and continues to secure front-page coverage and prime-time broadcast interviews with the national media on behalf of Waterstone.

A graduate of Queen's University, Jennifer also holds a journalism degree from Ryerson.
