Steve Parker

Steve Parker, Chairman and CEO, CCL Group Inc.

Steve Parker is the Founder of CCL Group, an organization with national interests in strategic marketing and communications companies and over 700 employees.

CCL Group has two major operating companies: Blue Ocean Contact Centers, an outsourcing Customer Contact Centre business, and Colour, a Public Relations, Advertising and Marketing Agency.

Steve is a member of the Jr. Achievement Nova Scotia Business Hall of Fame and the Atlantic Business Magazine’s Top 50 CEO Hall of Fame.

He is Chair of the Board of Directors of Medavie Blue Cross, a member of the Board of Directors of the Blue Cross Life Insurance Company of Canada, a Director of the C.D. Howe Institute as well as a number of private companies.

Steve is a Fellow of the Canadian Public Relations Society. He has received the Society’s major prizes for outstanding contributions to public relations in Canada (Novikoff Award) and for distinguished service in the public interest (Shield of Service Award.)

CCL Group has been twice named Corporate Philanthropist of the year in Nova Scotia for efforts on behalf of Junior Achievement, United Way and others.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Young Presidents Organization, Steve was selected for YPO’s highest award, The Legacy Honour. This is presented to one member in each Chapter around the world who exemplifies YPO’s business and personal qualities.

Mike Cordoba

Mike Cordoba, CEO and Partner, Empresario Capital Partners

Mike Cordoba has 20 years of diverse business experience. He has managed a portfolio of public and private companies with $1 billion in total revenue in various industries including restaurants, retail, manufacturing and processing and real estate. In his executive capacity he has built companies from the ground up to become industry leaders in their segments. His expertise in M&A activity is highly regarded in the marketplace.

Mike was formerly Chief Executive Officer of Boston Pizza International Inc. Since joining the company in 1993, Mike held various senior management positions, including President and Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President and Vice President of Finance.

Prior to joining Boston Pizza International Inc., Mike served as Controller for Eye Masters Ltd.; a Vancouver, BC based super optical retail company, for three years. Prior to this, he worked in a public practice as a Chartered Accountant in Vancouver, British Columbia.

In 2001, he was named one of Canada's Top 40 Under 40-award recipients.

Mike is a Chartered Accountant and has a degree in Business Administration from Simon Fraser University. He keeps active in his community by participating in various local charity events.

Donald Babick

Donald Babick was the President and Chief Operating Officer of CanWest Publications Inc.  from 2000 until 2003; President and Chief Operating Officer of Southam Publications from 1996 until 2000; President and Publisher of the National Post from 1998 until 2000; President and Publisher of Pacific Press (Vancouver Sun and Province) from 1992 until 1998; President and Publisher of the Edmonton Journal from 1990 until 1992; and Corporate Vice President, Marketing of Southam Newspaper Group from 1988 until 1990.

Donald is currently a member of the Toronto Star Advisory Committee and Board of Directors.

He is also a member of the Vision Critical Communications Inc. and Layfield Group Inc. Board of Directors.
